Paint Chart Egg Hunt - Chocolate Free
PaintChartEggHunt.jpg

I love Easter time but the full onslaught of chocolate hasn't even begun and I am already having to limit what the boys are eating!

Egg hunts are fab but my boys enjoy the collecting part more than the eating, so they loved this hunt even though it was chocolate free.

Paint charts are great for all sorts of learning games as well as making fab stripey eggs.

They don't have to be perfect, so take a stack of 5 or so and cut out your egg shape.

I used dolly pegs to attach them to the trees in the little park near us. A real adventure that didn't cost a penny!

We couldn't believe it when it started to snow, just before we left for the park. Sammy decided he needed to take a net with him to catch some flakes! Too cute!

We made the bags last year. If you fancy making a no sew felt bag for your little one have a look here.

Burlap Bunny Easter Cards

Ok so we say hessian they say burlap, potayto potahto. Burlap Bunnies just had a nicer ring to it!

Roughly cut a piece just smaller than your card. The rougher the better, no worries of straight edges with this material as it frays beautifully.

I used patterned sticky tape to secure the corners, which was quick and pretty.

Take a cookie cutter (unless you are a super artist) and dip it in a plate of white paint. Mark your bunny shape and fill in with white paint. I used a sponge type brush which was quicker on the hessian material. Plus Sammy enjoyed stamping the paint in.

Wait for your paint to dry and then glue a white pom pom tail to your bunny! An easy activity your little ones can join in on.

Do you send Easter cards? Have you made your own? I'd love to see them!

Easter Living Display

I love using a bell jar instead of a vase to make a beautiful display.

I adore the idea of using egg shells as plant holders but do not have the patience or delicate hands to make them from real eggs. Thank goodness for pretty plastic ones!

Select your flowers or plants. I chose Bellis daisies and Muscari as they are easy to pot in a small container and I love the deep blue colour against a pink Tulip.

Take a pen knife and slice the end off your eggs. Fill with earth and place in the display. You could wrap the ends of your cut flowers in damp kitchen roll to keep them fresh. Water your display regularly and repot your bulbs once they outgrow the eggs.

I found it easier to use a little round basket, rather than letting the earth spill out everywhere, which will help keep the water contained when watering.

So simple but so beautiful.
