Homemade Window Stickers
Window-Stickers.jpg

How sweet are these! Amazing what you can do with tubes of 3D fabric paint and a chopping board. There are a few US tutorials on Pinterest using parchment paper but I can tell you grease proof paper does not work!

Best to draw your shapes free hand onto a plastic chopping board and leave to harden for at least 24 hours. (You would be amazed how long this stuff takes to dry!) I added some glitter to the Santa beard for extra sparkle!

We had so much fun and you can reuse them over and over again. Just peel off and stick to a mirror or window.

We went outside and they peered through the windows!

Afterwards we came inside and stuck them to a mirror and learnt all about our reflections. Did you know it is often not until a baby is 2 years old that they will understand the baby in the mirror is actually them! A developmental milestone! You can test your baby (just for fun!) by putting a mark on their face like a red nose with lipstick, if they see themselves and touch their nose, recognising they can see the lipstick mark, they understand it is a reflection!

Print your own Paper Photo Cube
photocube-4.jpg

I love displaying photos around the house and this year the grandparents will be getting a lovely one from our recent family shoot. Photos can make great gifts especially in homemade frames! My grandparents have always had a huge influence and been an inspiration to me. I vividly remember them keeping a perspex photo cube on their bedside table. The photographs they chose to display, completely summed up my childhood. Birthdays, afternoons in the garden and traditional British outfits - check out my cousins in their sailor suits!

Fill the box with tissue and stash a little present inside. Perfect for table favours or a thank you for your children's teacher.

Materials:

  • Card - plain or patterned
  • Sticky tape
  • Photos cut to size (4.25cm by 4.25cm)
  • Embellishments, pens, stickers, glitter!
Instructions:

Step 1: Print

Step 2: Decorate

Step 3: Assemble using sticky tape

Step 4: Either cut out the photo squares and place your photos inside the cube or stick to the outer sides

You can also open the file in Photoshop and overlay your images to print straight onto the card.

Get your children involved and decorate them together.

My gift to you, a printable Photo Cube!

A Mistletoe Hunt
mistletoe-hunt-9.jpg

I have been promising the boys all week we would find some real mistletoe to hang by the door. My boys are big on kisses so any excuse for some more goes down well! Little Christmas Tree road side shops have popped up all over the place and we met the sweetest farmer at the one opposite the CourtHouse.

I made a little quiz book from luggage tags and we asked the farmer lots of questions, including where does it grow, what does it smell like, what colour is it and what is it for!

Big boy came out with some classics! Apparently mistletoe smells like bananas! The farmer explained that it grows on trees, often on apple trees and that children have to be very careful as the berries are poisonous. We filled the passenger foot well of the car with a huge bunch for £2 and will hang it in the porch for all our Christmas visitors!

Big kisses to everyone this Christmas time! xxxxx
