Super sandwich lollipops!
lolliy-3.jpg

When I saw this idea in The Vintage Tea Party Book, I knew one little three year old who would enjoy them just as much as his Mama! A super idea for children's parties, make them on little cocktail sticks with jam and chocolate spread.

Flatten your bread and spread with butter and your choice of filling.

Cut the crusts off and roll into a sausage. Wrap in cling film and set in the fridge for 20 mins so that the bread will hold the circle shape.

Slice into 1cm width and skewer onto cocktail sticks.

I made a cone out of some scrapbook paper and balanced it on an orange. I poked my cocktail sticks through the cone and into the orange!

The Ultimate Vintage Party

It is not often that something leaps out at you so dramatically on a store shelf. But when it does, you have to snarfle it into your basket as quickly as possible and run for the tills!

That was me last Sunday with a book. The Vintage Tea Party Book by Angel Adoree.

It has inspired me to set up a new page on my blog dedicated to everything I adore that is even a smidgen related to the vintage era! Check back very soon!

Watch out over the next few weeks for the sweetest sandwich recipes and dribble inducing cocktail recipes.

My current crush this week - the vintage tea party! Check out my Pinterest board for the ultimate vintage party! I just need an excuse now to host one!

Magpie on Safari

Just before Christmas we are throwing a bon voyage party for a family member who is off to Africa! I want to set up a photo booth, safari style, so we can have fun messing around and dressing up and hopefully get some ace pictures of the whole family.

I have been on the look out for anything I can use and you wouldn't believe how much old camouflage nets go for on eBay!

Today I couldn't believe my luck!

The half price rail in the Weston Hospice charity shop!

6 safari hats, one binocular case, two scarves and 7 shirts later I have the basics of the booth! All for £13!

My Mum was thrilled when I phoned her and reminded me, that her husband has a set of binoculars in the garage and we have an old set of my Grandpa's down at the beach hut in Southbourne!

I just need to find a bargain net and we are almost sorted! My Granny's suitcases will make great props too and the bamboo in the garden will make great jungle foliage!

Following my Pinterest board for the Safari send off here!

If you have any other explorer/safari/jungle props ideas let me know! Small boy has a giant stuffed giraffe and elephant but I would be grateful for any suggestions!
