Life Lately Podcast • Episode 3 • Roller Coaster

Happy weekend everyone.

I am going to soak up every second of the next 24 hours as I am at a spa hotel for a friend’s hen weekend! Our itinerary includes an early afternoon tea, massage and spa, games and drinks, meals and dancing.

Now what on earth do you wear clubbing as a 30 something mother of two (apart from hold-you-in pants of course)?!

I recorded this podcast after a couple of wines and in my pyjamas so I do apologise for the waffle! This week's round up focusses on your questions!

But thank you for listening, it means the world.

Life lately has been a photo marathon on several photo shoots this week. Here’s a peek into my world.

I feel like I am on this tremendous photography roller coaster at the moment – every week brings exciting new opportunities and I have seen my images improve dramatically from this time last year.

I know my camera better, love the safety and comfort of the Av (Aperture priority) setting and spend less time editing to get the final money shot.

Later this week I am going to share some of my favourite actions I use to add a subtle enhancement to your photos. So if you are a photography fan, check back in.

This week, I am just as busy with work but we have a summer holiday to book and I have head shots to send off.

I am speaking at 4 blog conferences this year! As soon as all 4 organisers have added my blurb to their amazing line up (I keep asking myself how on earth am I in that list?!) I will let you know where! Eek!

Thank you so much for all the supportive comments last week!

This feature is definitely here to stay.

It made me feel so connected with you, all of you!

This is life lately.

This week has ben full of pilots, pretty flowers and a pretty perfect niece.

And it ended with the most incredible surprise.

Making the most of life means you do feel a wee bit tired, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

I've tried to take on board all my good intentions from last week's podcast about balance. So yesterday, I actually had a few solid hours off the laptop. This may not be shocking to you, but for me it was a real break.

This coming week is just as busy and just as exciting. I have a little reunion dinner with my old Land team at Barratt Homes, meetings in Bristol for my development work and a couple of lovely photography jobs. Everyday brings new adventures.

Have a great week everyone :)

Life Lately Podcast • Episode 1 • Balance

Welcome to episode 1 of the new feature – the Life Lately podcast!

A round up of our everyday life that week.

Be kind – I was nervous and trying my hardest not to sound like Kenny in that episode of Frasier where he has to fill in and goes into full "DJ voice" mode.

And don't forget your questions for next week!

It was such a pleasure using the award winning Blue Spark Digital microphone which I am borrowing to try out. It was the first studio condenser microphone to work with an iPad as well as USB, and it also allows you to use headphones to monitor your recording in real-time. It made me really feel the part ;)

When I compared the sound quality to just the laptop microphone there was no comparison! The Spark Digital takes a non-professional recording to one that is clear and crisp, and now it's down to me to stop popping my P's! Those are the spikes you can see in the recording, the longer lines.

Plus it looks super cool on the desk.

If you are looking to start or develop a podcast of your own it is absolutely worth the investment in a good microphone.

Until next week dear readers (and hopefully listeners).
