PYO - the best kind of flowers
flowers6.jpg

I rushed to the supermarket this morning at 8am as my in laws are staying tonight and I wanted some bits for the fridge and some nice flowers for the house. I was so disappointed with the selection of flowers. They all looked more than a little bit ropey and there was no way they would last 7 days, 24 hours might have been pushing it!

So I returned home empty handed. However, when I pulled up on the drive, I saw that there were some lovely bright flowers, growing in the bush in the front garden (don't get me to tell you what they are, as a keen gardener I am not). So out we went armed with a trug and the scissors and snipped some beauties.

Even if they don't last very long, it is so lovely to have flowers in the house from our garden.

Definitely going to plant some bulbs at the end of the summer, so we will have our very own flower garden next year.

Photo a day May - Skyline - view from a fort
skyline-2.jpg

I am taking part in Fat Mum Slim's photo challenge for May. Day 2 - Skyline.

I went up to Bristol today for a meeting at at big solicitors firm right in the city centre. When I came out, I realised there was a great view of the city from the meeting room. But too late, I was already out of the door and didn't think I could sneak back in!

When I got home, I realised that despite the lack of impressive buildings that you expect to see in a skyline picture, the view from inside the big boy's fort was just as impressive. (Shame the horse seemed to be as excited!)

I had to add a photo of the flag that is holding on for dear life in the wild winds of Weston that we experience!

Might have to treat him to a new one this summer from the Pier! Pirate ship flag maybe?!

Snap Happy BritMums - Pampering for your post labour basement

Well I was spoilt for choice for the pampering photo today, for the BritMums photo challenge. I whizzed out to the supermarket this morning before my husband started work and left the boys at home. What a treat! Food shopping without the children, which means you can actually just do what you went there for! To food shop! Coldplay's Paradise was even playing on the radio as I got in the car. So I toyed with taking a photo of the trolley minus the kids but then realised I had  a better idea!

I have to pop in on my cousin in law later on my way home from work. She is due to pop anyway with her second child, a little boy to join our growing family. I will be taking her a box which contains the best pampering she will feel post labour!

We both absolutely swear by these gel pads made by Feme Pad. They are the best pampering a post labour mummy can get! You pop the two gel pads in the freezer, (they set like teething rings) put them in a protective gauze and then...... well you can guess where they go!

They are incredible, They help with swelling and soreness and offer an instant 'aaaah' kind of relief! Like when you take your first sip of coffee or tea in the morning times a hundred!

I think they should be given at every baby shower for anyone not booked in for a c-section!

Amazon and the NCT online shop stock them and I have seen them in Boots and Mothercare.
