Photo a Day May - Something you do everyday

Day 9 of Fat Mum Slim's Photo a Day May. Something you do everyday. I am lucky that my sister and brother and I are extremely close.

And even more lucky, that with the power of Skype, I have been able to remain so close to my brother, when he emigrated to New Jersey 2 years ago.

Today we had a birthday party over lunch time so I wasn't back in time to Skype him, as he had already left for work (normally he eats his breakfast and we eat our lunch and we catch up of any news of the day before).

However, my sister had a day off today (she works in retail so has her weekends on a Wednesday) and we got to have a quick catch up over Skype on the latest goings on with the house they are trying to buy and her outfit for our brother's wedding next month.

So this is what I do everyday. Might seem mad to some, but sometimes it is only for a few minutes and if for whatever reason we don't manage to catch each other, I miss it!

Snap Happy BritMums - my mantelpiece fridge

Day 9 of the Snap Happy BritMums photo challenge. Inside my fridge. I love our fridge. It may be masculine and overpowering, but it is ginormous inside and having ice on tap is a luxury, that you very quickly get used to!

It has helped big boy drink water only at home too, as it's fun for him to fill up his cup! The painting on it is apparently us that he drew at preschool! Obviously more of an abstract painter!

It fits snugly between the larder cupboards and acts as our mantelpiece as our fire place doesn't have one (it's brick all the way to the top).

As we spend most of the time in the kitchen, it is nice to have all your invites and thank you cards and the like on display where you get to enjoy them most! (Plus the new house numbers are there at the moment, that my brother bought us!)

Snap Happy BritMums - The best part of me

Today's Snap Happy BritMums photo challenge is the best part of me. I tried to not think about this one too much. I love that the boys have got my big eyes but I know that if ever I am having a crisis of confidence, if I wash and dry my hair, I instantly feel better.

I have pretty much always had long hair. I love that you can do all sorts with long hair and it is the one thing that I love doing with my best friend's little girls! Last weekend I did some rather lovely plaits on big boy's sweetheart!

I once had it cut into a bob at school and looked dreadful!
