The awesomeness of Aldi
aldi-3.jpg

I blooming love Aldi. I will tell anyone who will listen, that and about Slimming World. My husband says I basically only have 2 topics of conversation, well three now I have my blog!

I always do my main food shop in Aldi then top up the things I can't get in there, like extra lean mince and big boy's nappies for night time (he needs a 6).

I have saved a fortune over the last few years. I can get a trolley, spilling over with items, including toilet and kitchen roll, nappies for small boy and any other household bits I need that week, for just under £70. I think that is at least £25 less than if I bought the same in one of the other major supermarkets (of which Weston is lucky to have them all!)

Anyway, even if you are a food snob it's still well worth a visit for a rummage through the middle aisles. They always have an eclectic mix of goodies and you always come out with something random!

Today, I bought chip baskets! Plastic but very nice baskets, perfect for small boy's birthday party! I have done a deal with the local chip shop for smaller portions (as it's tea time) which they are delivering up to the Village Hall!

They also had a great section of ice cream toppings and wafers! Next to books and blow up beds!

We are going to have an ice cream stand, made out of big boy's wooden kitchen! So guests will help themselves to ice cream from the "freezer"! So these sauces that go hard as they set on your ice cream were perfect! Mint choc and orange flavour too!

I also found these plastic fantastic straws that have powder in them, that when you sip milk through them it makes it taste like milkshake! A great way to get your kids to drink more milk!

A nice day for a white wedding!

My lovely friend, who I have met since having children, is getting married next year. I am so ridiculously excited for her, mostly because she is the most lovely person you could ever meet and doesn't mind me bombarding her with ideas!

They are having a yellow and grey theme which I have never seen in the flesh before, but the images on the internet look amazing! Totally original!

Today at toddler group we had a chat about bridesmaid's dresses for her sisters and I just couldn't help myself when I had 10 minutes of peace but look up a few and email them to her!

Here were a few!

I know the little one isn't the right material but I just loved the bow on the back!

I love researching things! There is nothing better than seeing an idea then trying to do it yourself better and cheaper!

Hopefully she will love some of the ideas I have been pinning to Pinterest. Check out my board of what I love for the lovely bride to be!

Party time (again!) My Mama's Monday Must Do

Small boy is turning one in just under 4 weeks. We are of course having a party, but this time we are just having family and godparents and 3 of our oldest friends who are basically family just with different surnames! The antenatal babies group of his pals are having a joint party, secret Santa birthday presents etc later in July!

Even with limiting the invitations, the guest list totals 44!

We have booked the village hall and we are having an Olympic theme! Ollie's Olympics!

As there are only two babies who can move on their hands and knees (small boy and his sweetheart), the crawling race might not be the entertaining thriller it could be!

I have a million and one ideas, thanks to my obsession with Pinterest and not a great deal of time! (A week in America at the end of June for my brother's wedding!)

I am determined to get organised this week!

The best First birthday party a boy could have, here we come!
