Attention!

After preschool we headed to the local park to build forts for our box of soldiers. We bought small boy a fort for his first birthday and they play for hours in it! We have wedged it into his little room and I love fishing out all the weird and wonderful bits and bobs they have scurried in there, like sticky fingered magpies.

Small boy was obsessed with making the soldiers stand upright on the wooden play posts and big boy was so enthusiastic at foraging for suitable fort materials! A few sticks, grass and leaves later we had our fort. Big boy added the flower to make it look pretty! He will make a great husband one day!

Simple fun before the heavens opened and we had to retreat to the car - quick march, quick march!

What do tired soldiers need after an hour building forts? A big hot chocolate.
