Crumbs - the pumpkin
A couple of weekends ago we stayed in a hotel just down the road for the night. A lovely little boutique style hotel which is part of the Greek restaurant below.
I love the selection of magazines you get in a hotel. Ones you have never heard of but take great pleasure in flicking through from your hotel bed.
I have now discovered Crumbs magazine. Only in it's 3rd issue, Crumbs is a monthly publication of a food adventure, promoting local South West produce and businesses to a worldwide stage. (The New York Times have apparently seen it!)
It's beautifully written with captivating photography and articles that engage the reader with the West Country.
Even the paper it's printed on is appealing, with a matt texture and thicker under finger than glossy magazines.
They start this month with the pumpkin. Of course! A hero ingredient with bizarre medicinal benefits including helping chickens who refuse to lay eggs and dogs who are suffering from diarrhoea.
I adored the Little Black Book feature on the last page. A foodie guide to a weekend away in Bath.
The honey bee article has given me some great ideas and inspiration for my sister's bee theme baby shower next year too.
If you get a chance pick up a copy.
