Yummy Mummy?!

I was tagged by my bestest pal on Twitter Nat of Ready Steady Mummy in this Yummy Mummy meme, started by Busy Bee Mummy Bex. It's taken me so long to finish writing it (distracting the little herberts the boys are) that I have been tagged again by Angela at mum of three boys! So here goes!

The Rules

When answering the questions, give as much detail as possible. It’s all about the finer details, people! Leave a comment on here (BusyBeeMummyBex BlogSpot.) Tag three or more people and link to them on your blog. Tweet #yummymummy when sharing on twitter

Now to the good stuff

What is the first thing you do when you wake up?

Clean my teeth. I can't believe that anywhere other than in the movies, you lean over first thing and share a passionate embrace. Ghastly! I like to be minty fresh! Plus who has the time or inclination for morning canoodles?!

Do you shower daily? Are you an early morning shower or evening bath type?

Both! I have to have a shower every morning within about half an hour of being up. I also have to wash my hair everyday in the same shampoo and conditioner I have used for over 10 years. Herbal Essences pink shampoo for coloured hair (even though I hardly ever colour it) and L'Oréal Elvive red conditioner. My sister even bought me a bottle of the shampoo in the original old packaging for my 30th, which is hard to find these days!

Do you wear make up daily?

Yes, everyday I wear foundation MAC Studio Tech NW25 (tinted moisturiser if I am on holiday or a rush), MAC Select Sheer Pressed powder, MAC powder blusher in Mocha matte, buff it in with a MAC buffer brush 182 and eyebrow and eye pencil. Once you go MAC you never go back! I became a MAC girl after I was a bridesmaid for one of my best friends and the most amazing make up artist transformed us! I alternate between 3 lip glosses/sticks MAC Pro Longwear Lipcreme Unlimited A60 , Revlon Colorstay 295 Satin Rosewood and an H & M gloss True Beauty. I don't always wear eye make up as I often wear my glasses when I am too tired for lenses, (which is about 80% of the time!) and it gets lost behind them. But when I do, I always do the same thing either MAC eyeshadow in Sweet Lust or Retro-Speck, MAC liquid Penultimate eye liner in rapid black and MAC Zoom Fast Black Lash mascara with Ruby a cheap Rimmel soft kohl pencil. I always put it inside my bottom lashes as opposed to how you are meant to, if you want to make your eyes look bigger, underneath your bottom lashes.

Whats in your make up bag?

Too much that I never use! Apart from my staples listed above I have a MAC bronzer and a great foundation that works as a concealer by Estée Lauder Maximum Cover. I have a whole basket stuffed with glittery eye shadows that I really need to chuck out as they are ancient! But I love them!

When your having a slummy Mummy day what do you normally wear?

My Abercrombie and Fitch joggers which my brother bought me for Christmas. I adore them! They are cream with only a small logo and wash and tumble dry like new each time. They are gathered just above the ankle too. Definitely slummy but at least they are branded! Unlike everything else I own!

Nails - how often do you get them done?

Well fortunately I have been a bridesmaid 3 times in the last 2 years so had perfect acrylics for each wedding! My friend Sasha set up her own business Nail Couture and does incredible painted roses. I have had a set of them and a set of gel polish with Sasha and am booked in in a weeks time or so for toes and fingers before we fly out to America for my brother's wedding!

Your top tip for tired eyes?

A decent amount of shut eye! 8 hours sleep and I look like a different person! Covering them in nice sunglasses helps too!

Are you a Starbucks or Costa Coffee kind of girl?

Urgh! Neither! I can't stand coffee unless it's in a cake, ice cream or my ultimate favourite coffee cream chocolates. It was a sad day when Cadbury removed the coffee cream from the roses tin. The thing I hate most is the smell of it on someone's breath about an hour after they had a cup. I must drink about 6 cups of tea a day and recently bought this darling mug with a mini tea pot that sits on top, so I get an extra cup!

How many children do you have/want & why?

I have two boys aged 3 and 11 months. Funny thing is I always thought my husband would produce girls! I would have loved a daughter but our house feels so full with the two healthy happy boys we have I am not sure I want to 'try' for a third. I hate it when people automatically assume we were disappointed when small boy arrived. I am a firm believer in destiny and if it's my destiny to be surrounded by boys - marvellous, I will be Queen of my castle!

I am one of three very close siblings and I had always imagined I would have three of my own. But my husband is adamant small boy was our last and as the months go by, I feel less of that urge to be pregnant again. Hopefully I will be an Auntie at some point in the future and I can pour all my excess maternal instincts into a niece or nephew! A niece would be really lovely but a nephew would be just as nice!

Where is your favourite place to shop for babies/children's clothes?

JoJo Maman Bebe. I love it. It's where I would buy a gift for someone and where I could buy the entire catalogue in both sizes for the boys. Matching outfits of Breton stripes are my weakness.

Flats or heels everyday shoes are?

Flats. If I could wear flip flops every day of the year I would! I have about 25 pairs (I know gasp of horror) and that was after I had a cull, of ones that had seen much better days recently! I can't go to Primark without coming out with about 5 pairs but at £2 how can you resist! If you rotate lots of pairs they don't wear out so quickly! My most recent ones were bow t bar flip flops that I bought in 3 colour ways!
