Vintage Baby Book

I am hoping this week will end with a baby!

Baby B, even though I haven't even met you yet, I love you very much, so please can you hurry up!

My Mum found all our baby record books in her loft and it has been so lovely reminiscing over them. (Although note to self - second babies books aren't as full and third timers even less - I must complete Ollie's!)

I adore that my first holiday was to Southbourne, just like my boys. We've all sat snuggled in a blanket at the beach hut. We have already got a visit booked in to go with Baby B in August, so history will be repeating itself again - how wonderful!

I loved having a little blazer for school even though it was wool and smelt awful when it got wet in the rain. You can see the names of my childhood friends, one of them has started a lovely business making wall stickers for children, Stickerscape. Make sure you check it out!

My Mum kept my brother and sister's scan pictures - they didn't have one with me! Oh dear I feel old, I love this photo of us bringing Patrick home and my brother's little booties. How cute is he on his first day at school?!

But the best find was her baby book, which my Granny started filling out in 1955!

I hope my children find my book one day and feel just like I did.

I can't wait to see one with Baby B's name on it! Now is it going to be a pink or blue book?

DIY Love Heart Crayons

Looking for an easy Valentine's gift that lasts longer than a box of chocolates? Then you have stumbled across the right page.

All you need is some old crayons, a microwave and some cute moulds.

Cupid's Crayons

Remember my wish list? Well I made an offer and the moulds were mine!

I wanted to make the boys a sweet gift for Valentines - after all what woman in the world loves them more than I do?! (Yikes I hope I don't become a "no woman will be good enough for my boys" kind of Mother in Law!)

Cupid's Crayons

Melt some old crayons in the microwave and use a throw away plastic spoon to pour in one spoonful of the melted wax into each mould.

Cupid's Crayons

They set in less than a minute so it is easy to make a batch of 5 different colours in almost as many minutes.

Cupid's Crayons

Such a simple idea but so effective!

I will have to stop Ollie eating them, as they look just like the sweets!

Are you feeling the love for Valentine's Day? After my Grandpa died I always sent my Granny a Valentine's card and do you know what, she treasured them, as I have found them in a memory box!

Invitation-11.jpg

I posted earlier this week about the collage I made to remember my Granny. In amongst all her precious letters and cards were my grandparents wedding invitations, thank you cards and tags from presents they received. She also kept the hotel brochure from their honeymoon, complete with confetti inside!

They are so beautiful, simple, classic and delicate.

Something sweet to look at today to take away the January blues!
