nip nip - spider crabs!

One of my vivid childhood memories is crabbing at Mudeford in Dorset. As big and small boy are still too young to have the patience and concentration (the waiting in the queues at Peppa Pig World proved it) to sit on the jetty, I decided to make our own crabs at home!

I bought the crabbing reel and bucket in a little hardware shop for £2 and bought the bits to make the crabs from a haberdashery in the High Street.

Luckily I had the wiggly eyes, paint and magnets already left over from something else!

As they turned out more like orange spiders we have named them our spider crabs!

I used a busy border on these, as that is how it felt making them, busy! Small boy trying to lick the paint and big boy refusing to keep his apron on!
